ABOUT HUMBUG RADIO

Humbug Radio wasn’t just another station — it was the voice of Haringey, broadcasting with personality, humour, and heart. From the leafy heights of Muswell Hill to the vibrant streets of Tottenham, we were hoping to build a proper community — one broadcast at a time. But as it turned out, the funding we needed simply wasn’t available, and now we’re gone.

This was radio made by locals, for locals. Our presenters weren’t anonymous voices — they were actors, comedians, writers and educators who live in and know Haringey inside out. They brought you curated music, snappy banter, and a healthy dose of irreverence, all with a deep love for the borough we call home.

With a mix of classic pop, funk, disco, soul and more, plus local news, cinema listings, events, and support for neighbourhood businesses, Humbug Radio could have been as much a part of Haringey as Ally Pally or Green Lanes.

Our line-up was packed with talent, including Jeremy Swift, Emmy-nominated star of Ted Lasso, Simon Lipson from Dead Ringers, Brian Luff, veteran podcaster and author, Maureen McKarkielpresenter and editor for arts and community news, Misha Mansoor, columnist and stand-up comedian, Rick Kieswetter, American stand-up and actor with a sharp north London edge, John Dredge, surreal sketch writer and station mainstay, Keith Wickham, the voice of the Fat Controller and a thousand others.

So grab a cuppa (or something stronger), and drink a toast to what was almost the best little rado station in London.

Humbug Radio. Proudly local. Brilliantly different. Always on your wavelength. Gone.
